Hello! I’m sarah
I am a writer. Before everything else, before I could even write words, I have always been a writer. Stories are my life. Counseling called to me as a way of influencing people’s stories for the better: of guiding them to the path they need. Of course, real life is more than just stories. We still live every day in the mundane and smaller moments, too. In those everyday moments outside of writing and counseling, I love to read, paint, play board and tabletop games, take walks in nature, do puzzles, play Stardew Valley, listen to musicals, and hang with my cats. When I find myself getting too stuck in the rote or disengaged with life, I try to ask myself: what’s beautiful right here, right now?
As for education and training, I graduated from Western Oregon University with a bachelor’s in psychology and then from Central Washington University in 2021 with a masters in mental health counseling. I have worked as an associate at the group practice No Stress No Stigma and recently received full licensure in the state of Washington. I have taken a few courses on expressive arts from the Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute, along with completing the IFS Online Circle training from the IFS Institute.
